The Evolution of the Big Wheel

It is possible to enjoy riding a Big Wheel regardless of whether you're a walker, cyclist or a driver. The Big Wheel Burger is a fast food giant with a conscience that has made its name in cities all across the United States. Two creative minds came up with this innovative food franchise that combines the health benefits of riding the Big Wheel with modern dining. Jay Taylor, Frank Fernandez's partner, was looking to create a place where people could enjoy their food in comfort and fashion without the need to drive.

It was a simple idea to create an burger kiosk on the top of a waterbed. It worked like a charm! It was initially intended to make the experience interactive for the Find more info customers by creating the largest steering wheel on the bed that was low in water. Customers could choose which menu they wanted and order their food while riding the massive, round Helmsman size steering wheel. Customers would be able to order Big Wheel Burger, Big Wheel Fries, or even Big Wheel Tacos. After the customer had their order placed on the massive wheel, it would turn 180 degrees so that the customer could be able to see their food.

Many of the concepts were considered too fashionable for the general public in the early days of this unique concept. Many people thought it was absurd to make something more functionally and attractive on water as it was on land. One of the initial prototypes had two sails mounted on the steering wheel and there were many who were just as angry as the idea of two large steering wheels on an unflat surface. So, Mr. Fernandez and Mr. Taylor decided to take their concept one step further and incorporate a rudder into the design instead of two big steering wheels.

At first, the wheels were designed be driven by regular bicycles, but they soon discovered that they could use the chain of a regular bicycle as well. They were able create smaller Big Wheel bikes that could be used by people who weren't experienced enough to handle motorcycles. The Big Wheel concept soon evolved into the creation of bikes that included sailing boats as well as steering. These models soon became known as "Quad bike" models. After a while, fully suspension bikes were built by companies that had four real rudders as well as an actual wheel that could be easily lifted.

The actual wheel was affixed to the rear of the bicycle during the early years of the Big Wheel concept. The designers soon realized that this device could also be an ideal addition to a racing yacht. The concept of having a real "wheel on a boat" was quickly moved a step further and Mr. Taylor and Mr. Fernandez decided to try and create a functional Big Wheel. The designers created a functioning Big Wheel Bike by using a thick copper wire for the rim and a set wires for servo motors. The wind-up mechanism gave the rider the ability to steer the bike through water.

The first Big Wheel bikes that were ever built were very primitive in their design. They had huge round wheels that riders was unable to push together with their body weight. After some tweaks engineers were able to improve their design, allowing these machines to offer the same type of steering offered by the popular rowing boats for racing. The trike was named "Quatra" in recognition of the improvement. The upgraded version was dubbed the "Gyro-Quatra" which meant that there would be two rudders that were real on each side of the cockpit instead of just one.

The upgraded versions of the Big Wheel were then mounted on a standard bike frame and fitted with a front derailleur. The Big Wheel was a total change from a sailing vessel to an all-road bike. The Big Wheel was eventually adopted by companies such as Honda, Boulle and Fox and was dubbed the Honda Cart and BSC Touring Bike. The bikes eventually were used by major race teams and even entered in a few Tours de France. The popularity of the Big Wheel has not diminished. Many professional cyclists still make use of them today, but they are usually replaced by more agile touring bikes.

These days , the Big Wheel is best enjoyed outdoors and indoors. Numerous companies now provide a variety of Big Wheel bikes suitable for both road and mountain use, with various sizes available for those who require some extra space or who prefer smaller bikes. For many, however, the Big Wheel remains a favorite because of its simple construction robust durability, and superb riding and coasting performance. If you want to experience the same high-performance on your Big Wheel bike that you would get on a high-performance yacht, then purchase one now and find out the things you've been not experiencing!
